Corzine outspends 5 to 1 and calls his opponent "fat". Did the NJ people reject that approach? 2. NJ is a state with years piled on years of policies formed in the Democratic party crucible. Are they the first Michigan, California or New York that got a chance to vote as these policy castles crumble? 3. Two huge media markets, New York and Philadelphia, surround NJ. Does this mean that media is losing their ability to impact? 4. Does corruption still have an impact? It apparently had some ranking in NJ. Will that be meaningful in 2010? 5. Is all politics still quite local? Maybe the key to success is controlling City Hall, County offices and Statehouse? Duh. Perhaps the Democrats are ready to turn out for the big ticket races but not the down ticket races? This election has meaning on many different levels…not easy to make an overall point.
