To represent the interests of the United States of America, the following points should have been cited: 1. America was the voice that demanded that the wall come down and the gates be opened. 2. American NEVER abandoned the freedom loving people trapped on the other side of the wall or the people in Berlin encircled. 3. Freedom prevailed. The US was a might instrument in pursuing that freedom. President Obama did not measure up to this relatively easy test. His remarks had glancing references to 2 and 3, but it is "all about him" so he couldn't even acknowledge President Reagan. He doesn't seem to understand that he stands on the shoulders of giants. This is a common theme, relating to his views on our founders, our courts and our society. President Obama did not capably represent the interests of the United States of America during this anniversary celebration.
