The UK Guardian On SHTF

The Guardian has an article on prepping here. It is not based on the likelihood of civil unrest nor the specter of government troops going door to door. It’s based on, of course, the horrors of climate change.

Regardless, the article sounds rather naive to a Revoista but it is filled with practical paragraphs like, “Should I take my family (and could I eat them)?”

And, “Could I disembowel a rabbit?”

Nowhere does the writer address the possibility that rabbits will become scarce in a week. He finds the concept of eating wild rabbit to be more a problem than eating your child. He also asks if the reader could shoot a rabbit. What tool would the shooter use? Guns are verboten in Britain, I think.

Not very realistic.

Heh. Yeah, I’ll take prepping advice from a limey, right after I get done asking how to properly prosecute a war against subjects who refuse to bend their knee to a tyrant.

You know which Revoista is most screwed if the stores go empty? Reboot. During WWII, when the US had Jap occupied Guam blockaded, they couldn’t produce enough food to feed the people who lived there. It was hard times.

The total population then, including Japanese occupiers, was ~20,000. Now there are about 170,000 there. They have container ships coming and going every day.

Better hope they keep coming, Reboot.

Yeah, I couldn’t imagine living on an island that’s already on the verge of capsizing, and then has no food all of a sudden.

They could eat the brown tree snakes. Win/win!

You gotta find them first! ;)
Seriously, outside of water and a fitty pound bag of rice, we are damn near good for 2 months or more.
We buy on sale, with coupons and store it so it’s cheap.
I’m working on getting a DC powered chest freezer with a 1 panel/battery solar setup.
I’ve celebrated every December since 2002 when we haven’t been hit by a big typhoon, but I stay prepped for that and the zombie pockylips.

I think Britanistan would be best served if the aliens did show up and dust the place.
