This parrot has ceased to be!

Charles Krauthammer makes a good and happy point. He says that the public option government option was dead last weekend. There is no hope, it is deceased and no more. In fact, Krauthammer says the the whole Obamacare bill is dead for 2009. Team Obamarama, however, have propagated the fiction that it is still alive to placate the radical left. There is no harm in placating the base with dreams of a public option government opton if you aren’t going to get a bill at all. If there is no vote, you don’t have to piss off the base by looking like you caved. Obama can simply claim that HIS PLAN had a public option, government option he just never got the chance to sign it, darn it anyway.

In any case, the public option government option may very well be pining for the fjords.

An interesting point was made on Hannity last night about semantics.
The term “public option” is pretty misleading. If intent and how it would really work are taken into account it should more accurately be referred to as the “government option” no matter what form it takes. The government still would call the shots and makes the rules whether government run or some co op of non profits. The left would be giving up nothing. Any form of government subsidized “choice” as an option is nothing more than the Trojan horse for defacto evolution to single payer. The government and not the public should get all the credit for such a scheme (hence the more accurate name).

Good point. We shouldn’t allow the left to lull us into using Obama’s focus group approved term. From now on we should refer to it as the government option or the socialist option.

I sat in a townhall with Congressman Michael Burgess last night — he said there was an intial August 31st deadline on the Healtcare Bill and that there is no way it will be hit.

But he said October 15th is the date to watch — if the bill isn’t voted on by then it dies and will have to wait until next year to come up again. Who’s going to push for this in an election year?

He also said the reason Cap & Trade is stalled and Healthcare is running into issues is because of us – period. He did 2 town halls 2 years ago and was luck to have 20 at each. He’s had over 2,000 at each of the 3 he’s done this year – and it’s happening all over the country and truly (in his words) having an effect.

    KEEP IT UP! :)

I do worry that Obamacare will rise from the grave like some kind of horrible vampire legislation, ready to feed on the living. As long as good people are willing to look the other way, or give a liberal the benefit of doubt, it will lurk in our cultural closet of nightmares.
