Congratulations North Dakota!

NoDak is the only state that hasn’t lost jobs since the stimulus bill was passed.
According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted. Only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus. While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the Nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs.
NoDak is up 1,800 jobs since stimulus was passed. According to Obama’s recovery.gov website, the stimulus is responsible for creating 219 of those 1,800 jobs. That means, either way, NoDak is in the black and everybody else is in the red. Way to go Bman!
For comparison, Michigan has lost 137,300 jobs and recovery.gov says the stimulus created a whopping 397 jobs in that state.

I don’t mean to gloat, but reading this news makes my heart filled with pride! Us North Dakotans knew this already, having had a 1 billion dollar surplus, (yes, BILLION) last year. If youve never been to North Dakota, you must someday. The spirit of the people is unmatched by any folks in the nation. Ive lived in several different places, and the mentality of the people here is something that the other communities I lived in should take note and follow.
Im not a native to this state. But it was the year of 1997 during the horendous flood that I fell in love with this place and the people. I lived in the town of Grand Forks, (pop. 50,000 I also currently live here) Ive never witnessed a community come together like I saw in ’97. Seriously, just thinking about it makes my eyes water. Even though the Red River of the North broke through the dykes, destroying most of the city, and displacing over 30,000 people, it never once broke our spirit. When the waters receeded, and the fires put out, we rebuilt. The people here cannot be broken.
Like I said before, I dont mean to gloat, but goddammit, I love this place!

Bman: I posted this somewhere else. In case you missed it, here it is again.
I have spent a little time in NoDak. I taught PLDC to the ND National Guard in December 91 and January 92. That was Camp Grafton at Devil’s Lake. My folks live in Park Rapids MN in the summer so when I have been up there I get over to Fargo from time to time. (They lived in Mitchell SD for 14 years.) I have also driven all the way across the state a time or two. I like it up there. It is out of the way and that is where I like to be: out of the way. Give me fly over land any day. I like to see to the horizons. Don’t fence me in!

I’ll have to keep that in mind BMan. I’ve got a family sanctuary much closer to home than that, but it’s always good to put another pin on the big map somewhere.

No doubt. I’m sure that the proper gear isn’t something I’m going to find here in Florida. I’m good at splitting firewood though. That’s one hell of an earth shelter I would have to build. I’ll be sure to get there in the Summer when i come.

If you plan to come here in the summer, be sure to bring plenty of deet. The skeeters here are mean and big as a turkey…they can carry you away…

This just the tip of the “iceberg” with this looney administration at the helm. The new numbers are in on his “popularity” and here they are:
