GOP takes Virginia
November 3, 2009
Fox is calling Virgina for the GOP and it looks like a slam dunk.
Republican Bob McDonnell won the Virginia governor’s race by a wide margin Tuesday, heading up a successful GOP ticket in the swing state which voted for President Obama a year ago.
McDonnell’s victory over Democrat Creigh Deeds ends eight years of Democratic control of the governorship.
With 54 percent of precincts reporting, McDonnell had 62 percent and Deeds had 38 percent.
That was pretty much expected but still great news. That is one down, tonight, two to go. Coming up next, the New Jersey governorship and NY23 congressional race.
