Light blogging make up thread

motelhell1

I can’t blog worth a damn from a motel room or on a laptop. Just can’t do it. This, then, explains the flat, watered down, skunk piss flavor of my posts over the last several days. I am back at it now, however, and my posts shall return to their normal, non-flat, non-watered down skunk piss flavor.

Let’s begin.

Make up post #1: The brass at Fort Bragg is worried that Sarah-cuda is going to whip the paratroopers ensconced there into an anti-CIC frenzy.

“If media are present, they can capture the imagery of what’s going and sort of the ambiance of what’s taking place,” he said.

Fort Bragg, which is base for some 35,000 soldiers, does not hold many promotional events, especially not with political figures. Officials said they worried that media coverage would turn the appearance into a chance for people to express political opinions “directed against the commander in chief.”

“The main reason is to stop this from turning into a political platform,” said Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum. “There are Army regulations that basically prohibit military reservations from becoming political platforms by politicians.”

Palin has already agreed not to give a speech, McCollum said. Palin will sign her new book for people and will not stop to pose for photographs, officials said.

Having served as a young paratrooper at Fort Bragg, I can assure you that the command’s fears are not without foundation. Sarah will appeal to the troopers on, shall we say, more than one level.

Make up post #2: Harry Ried’s health care plan has a separate fee to cover your next abortion.

Beginning on line 7, p. 118, section 1303 under “Voluntary Choice of Coverage of Abortion Services” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run health plan. Leader Reid’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions (line 13, p. 120).

What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run health plan.

A first trimester abortion in America cost about as much as parts and labor to replace the alternator on your car. If you alternator goes out, you pony up an pay the garage, right? Why are the Democrats so all fired determined to make sure that a procedure that is no more expensive than minor auto repair be covered? Shouldn’t a person be able to actually pay for what should be a once in a lifetime occurrence? Why the hell are the Democrats expending so much political capital on a process that is no worse a financial hit than buying new tires for a Sentra?

Make up post #3: Over at MSNBC, they a signinficant American social issue figured out. If you like Sarah Palin and you are white, you are a racist.

Much like mainstream media coverage of this year’s Tea Parties, Matthews and “Hardball” guests Norah O’Donnell and Salon’s Joan Walsh made an issue of how “white” the crowd was at a Palin book signing event in Michigan.

“This is a largely white — almost no minorities in this crowd,” reported MSNBC’s O’Donnell live from the scene.

Matthews reiterated, “Well, they look like a white crowd to me,” later claiming, “I think there is a tribal aspect to this thing, in other words, white vs. other people.”

Walsh added, “I think you`ve got that same kind of paranoid tea party, maybe even birther crowd that talks about the Constitution, without really understanding what they are talking about.”

Let’s just all agree that all white people are racist and the only way to be white and not racist, is to constantly accuse all other white people of being racist, okay?

Make up post #4: Here is a gratuitous photos ‘Gossip Girl’ stars Leighton Meester and Blake Lively and an ice cream cone on the April cover of ‘Rolling Stone.’

It’s just ice cream, right? It doesn’t make you think how pathetic and sad your life has become. It is just ice cream.

That’s all I got. I am going to bed.
