Here are a couple of representative comments from the Lafayette County Politics blog.

At best, your sign is unbelievably tasteless; at the worst, it is treasonous. It is certainly unpatriotic and symptomatic of the hatred and contempt you wear on your sleeve for the duly elected president of our great country. Shame on you!

Awesome! Once the republicans start their revolution it will be perfectly legal to put a bullet in their heads. Now it’s just a dream.

Can anyone tell me please what the difference is between the GOP and the Iraqi terrorist insurgency?

Conservatives world wide can’t win elections, so they become violent. Conservatism is a cancerous tumor on the world!

It is a national tragedy that sharing the sentiments of Founders makes you a radical and a belief in words of the Declaration of Independence makes you guilty of treason.


We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Let’s review our case for injury.

The Administration has absorbed and continues to absorb ownership of large segments of the private Sector denying rightful owners their protection under the law and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

The Administration dominates the Executive and Legislative branches and is preparing to control the Judiciary as well and, in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution has subjected the States to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving its Assent to their Orders and Acts of pretended Legislation.

The Administration threatens to deny the People the right to keep and bear arms in the defense of their homes, farms, shops and businesses.

The Administration has declared itself hostile to unborn innocents and subordinated the Rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness endowed on these citizens by the Almighty Architect of the Universe in the name of the comparably trivial values of convenience and choice.

The Administration is draining the Treasury and securing unmanageable debt; the Burden of which will be carried on the backs of citizens not yet born rendering them slaves unrepresented in their heavy, inescapable yoke of taxation.

The Administration has excited unwarranted and baseless fear amongst us in order to propagate burdensome taxes on carbon released as a byproduct of the making of Energy that is the Engine of our Civilization; the resulting taxation yields no environmental benefit but will cause irreparable economic harm.

The Administration has subordinated the rights of classes of citizens to other classes and created thought crimes punishing citizens not for their actions, but for perceived feelings of hate thus denying citizens Equal Protection Under the Law.

The Administration has embraced and cajoled with foreign tyrants who call Americans part and partial to the “Great Satan” and who have referred to this nation as “the most savage, murderous empire in the history of the world.”

The Administration and its representatives have rendered unwarranted apologies while on foreign soil.

The Administration has released secret documents that will inflame the passions of our Enemies and increase the danger faced by Citizens, Soldiers and Sailors abroad.

The Administration has, at a time of war and unprecedented government spending, reduced support for many projects of National Defense necessary for protection against Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

    I just can’t get over that commenter. Treasonous? TREASONOUS??? If that numbnuts wants to see “treasonous” defined, all he/she/it needs to do is take a gander at Mr. 7% black/43% Arab/50% white Usurping Assclown.

    I’ve missed The Revo. But now that I’m only working two jobs instead of three, there should be more time to check in.

    Every man has a line. This line defines how precious liberty is to the individual, and it lies somewhere between freedom and slavery. Some men, too lazy to think and act for themselves or to accept responsibility for the future, will always prefer slavery. Other men hold freedom in higher regard than life. We are all witness to the decay of freedom in this country. The degree of acceptable decay varies according to the individual. Many have already started taking action. The first steps have been taken. If God chooses to smile on this undeserving country one more time, may the discontent end at the TEA parties and pink slips. If not, may God have mercy on the souls of those that pushed the decay of freedom over the line.

    I have two young daughters. One is three, and the other is barely one. If they grow up in a world where their life is dictated by their government, it will be over my dead body.

    Live free or die.

    When I was in Jacksonville last week I had reason to drive north to Brunswick Georgia on business.

    On Interstate 95, near the Florida/Georgia border on two massive billboards – one for northbound traffic, one for southbound – were the words “WHO IS JOHN GALT?” That is all that was written. There was no indication of the sponsor.

    The signs made me feel warm and fuzzy. Through the miracle of the interwebs, I tracked down the source.

    A late afternoon email on Thursday confirmed my theory—the creator of the billboard came forward. He is a small business owner, operating Vista Outdoor since the early 1980s. Craig Root wrote, “I am the man who placed the billboard on I-95 near the GA/ FL border.”

    I thanked Root, who lives in Georgia, and told him for me, the billboard stands as an icon of liberty. The fact it’s nonpolitical makes it doubly charming.

    “If people will read Rand’s book,” Root responded, “or even just a short such as ‘Anthem,’ they can draw their own political conclusions. I think ‘Atlas Shrugged’ would perhaps be even more powerful without her atheist tenet but in any event, I am one of those who consider their first read as life-changing.”

    My Grandma made me read Atlas Shrugged in 1962 when I spent summer vacation with her. She had her ways of shaping her grandchildren.
