Live a lie and you will live to regret it

palin obama

I like Sarah Palin. Hell, what is not to like? She is every conservative guy’s dream girl. For the record, I don’t think she is our savior and I don’t think she is a saint. I don’t think she can do no wrong and I am no cultist. I just like her.

Judging by the way people are lining up to see her on her book signing tour and the way her book is actually selling, it is pretty clear a lot of people like her. She seems full of energy and she exudes honesty.

In fairness, she can afford to wear her heart on her sleeve. She doesn’t have to parse words or conceal a hidden agenda. Her public at large is comfortable with what she has to say. When she talks about family values, her love of America, her pride in the armed forces, her support for private property and capitalism, her belief in God or her support for the Second Amendment, you know she means what she says. She has no reason to conceal her true beliefs; her true beliefs are part of why people like her. They are her strength.

Contrast this with the crypto-Marxist currently occupying the White House. Obama has to be cagey with his real views and make certain that he never reveals his true radicalism. He excuses himself of 20 years in the church of Jeremiah Wright by stating that he never knew his real views. He dismisses a long partnership with Bill Ayers by claiming he is “just a guy he knew.” He pretends to support business when his goal is to undermine it. He claims to despise abortion while defending it to the point of infanticide whenever he is able. His socialist agenda is hidden behind a facade that is occasionally revealed when an open mike picks him up calling for the redistribution of wealth.

Obama is a radical at heart but he is never fully free to speak from his heart. If Obama were to actually speak the beliefs he holds in his heart, Americans would be appalled. Supporters who share his views seem to understand that he must conceal his true agenda or risk losing the support of mainstream America. His radical base shares with him an unspoken understanding that his seeming moderation is stagecraft meant to deceive the rubes of middle America. With a wink and a nod they allow him to pretend to support national defense and property rights. They have an unspoken rapport.

To the rest of the country, however, his inability to every be fully open and truly reveal is feelings and purpose makes him appear cold and aloof. He can never truly speak his true agenda and is constantly required to live his lie. It is emotionally and intellectually exhausting to live a lie and, no matter how good at it you are, people will eventually begin to perceive an innate dishonesty. This is the phase Obama is currently entering. His falling approval numbers coincide with the loss in confidence independents have in the man.

This is a situation that Sarah Palin and others like her will never have to face. Since they speak their true agenda they are free to speak from their hearts. They don’t have to engage in the endless emotional and intellectual juggling act living a lie requires. Palin is able to commune with others on a foundation of intellectual honesty that Obama can never fully realize. The radical difference between the cold and aloof Obama and the warm and open Palin is based on a simple dichotmy: Obama is living a lie and Palin is not.

EVEN HER EYES SHOW CHARACTER. NOW LOOK AT HIS….WHAT A DESPICABLE MAN-CHILD. IMPEACH THIS DISASTROUS DESTROYER OF AMERICA AND ITS VALUES. 2010 AND 2012 CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH.

People identify with someone who is genuine. I recently observed a State Senator who, in a normal conversation with a life-long friend and former classmate. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but every sentence seemed crafted and they guy couldn’t even commit to attending a class reunion. People discount her but she is genuine. After four years of the lying Attorney-in-Chief she might be exactly the person people will get behind (POLITICALLY speaking).

Very nicely written RD. Judge Judy says ‘If you tell the truth you don’t have to have a long memory’. The stress of holding up his facade is showing on this Prez. in many ways, not the least of which is the fresh snow on his head.

On a side note, did anyone hear Olbermans’ feined outrage at Palins’ ‘reloading’ comment? LMAO! What a douche!

Apparently he can connect the dots between her quoting her fathers statement…”She’s not retreating, she’s reloading”….and the Fort Hood ‘man-caused disaster’.

DAMN!!! I could not believe my friggin’ ears!! Oooooooo, the insensitivity of ‘that woman’ to mention the word ‘reload’ in the wake of such carnage…..

GEEZ that guy is a piece of work!!

And y’all know his tone, that sanctimonious snobby whining that only a true baby-killing whale-hugging liberal can love.

Meanwhile all they can talk about on MSNBC is ‘that crazy political party who allows its’ fringe to frighten moderates into voting for the other party’.

Shhhhh….keep it on the DL. ;oD

A good test for future candidates: Does he/she speak the truth? Do they avoid direct answers?

I, too, like Sarah. She has a lot of supporters across the country. Like R.D. said, I don’t think they believe she is our savior or a saint but what she is is a straight talking example for future candidates.

I still don’t think she will run for prez in 2012. She has a great bully pulpit right now and is using it to promote truly conservative, honest politicians. And make a few more dollars. Good for her.

I think she will run, and 2012 will be hers to win or lose. True, she’s not the savior, but at least she’s not the Antichrist (or a precursor thereof). People are hungering right now for someone through whom one can see light at the end of the tunnel, as opposed to yet another glimpse of the Abyss. The comment that she’s genuine is perfectly spot-on. She loves this country, respects the military, advocates personal responsibility . . . and is also a natural-born citizen. Imagine that!

I fear she is too divisive to win. I know too many center right folks who dislike her and too many fiscal and defense conservatives who don’t think she is qualified. She should be chairman of the GOP.

I so enjoy hearing her speak, comment or be interviewed. She’s so qualified for so much! The rest will have to spend the next three years trying to measure up to her! If she keeps them all squirming and guessing, maybe by 1012 we’ll have some good candidates to choose from. Both sides are scared to death of her! I’m loving it!

p.s. That pic of 0 looks like he’s trying to remember his excuse for something. He always looks like that nowadays, notice it? Haaaa!
