I Think I Can Understand The Officer’s Confusion

A Fort Lauderdale Police Officer is facing disciplinary proceedings because he Mis-Gendered a person during a traffic stop. (The stop itself is not contested – i.e. – it was a righteous stop.

Question. WTF is mis-gendered? Just look between your legs. It shall be clear.

The person said that he/she/it disagreed with the officer’s characterization of him/her as a man. And then in a totally cis-violative man(woman)ner way, the officer had the audacity to say to he/she/it:

“Well, for the purposes of this citation, you’re a male,” Brinton told Kendall, according to a police report.

To paraphrase Joe Conrad, “Oh, the horror … the horror.”

But, all in all … I can understand the officer’s confusion.

I See Why The Officer Was Confused

Perhaps it’s more clear now.
