A Sunday Sermon

Good morning Real Revo. It is a beautiful Sunday morning in America. This is another wonderful day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad that I have lived to see it and that I am here to give the Almighty Creator the praise he is due for all that.

On November 15th 2007 The Real Revo came to life. We thought that we were going to help make the world a better place. We believed that God had shaped our lives in such a way that could help others understand some things that were and are going on around them if we would just take the time to share with others the lessons that we have learned. We felt that a failure to share the things about this world that God has given us to learn from would be a selfish betrayal of his Love.

When we came into existence here on the worldwide web we did not come here to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This was a place to discuss History, Politics, Culture and a host of other things. In those days this was not the place you could go to on a Sunday morning and find a livestream presentation of a Christian Worship Service. Matters of Faith were not discussed here.

19 Months into our existence here I made my best attempt to prove the existence of God. It became woefully entangled in things that do not belong in such a discussion but I was very new to writing about matters of Faith on the worldwide web and at the time I was being highly influenced by a Spirit of Fear. That’s not a good way to go about proving the existence of God but I did my best…

Let there be Light

I am thankful that the Lord was not finished showing me the evidence of his existence when I wrote that publication so long ago. I was a very damaged and broken man back then. I lived in Fear and Sadness a good bit of the time. I professed my Faith in God to others but my life was a mess that did not represent any influence of the Holy Spirit. Let’s be real. I publish under the name “Mad Brad”. That doesn’t sound like a Holy Spirit inspired moniker. It was a name that I earned in the Army and I did not earn that name because of my bold proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It was just this week that the Holy Spirit gave me a bold revelation about what it is that I am to attempt to communicate in this my final publication on the old Real Revo Blog. Out of the blue, many years after it had been first published here an online human resources publication provided a link in one of their publications last week to something I wrote back in January of 2010. It is an article about General Patton and his belief in the power of Profanity and Prayer. When I go back and read the stuff that I have published here when I was doing my best to live up to this perverted image that I had of myself, maintaining the character of “Mad Brad” it makes me cringe. Over these many years I have said so many things that were just awful that in no way represented the work of the Holy Spirit. There can be no wondering why anything I have ever had to say here has been entirely ineffective at changing the world for the better.

There should be no wondering why anything that any of us have had to say here over the years has not changed the world for the better. That is because God did not make the world our responsibility. The world is HIS responsibility. Our responsibility to this world is much more simple than trying to change it. His yoke is easy and his burden is light, much lighter than we make it out to be sometimes.

What the Holy Spirit showed me this week is why all that I have written here over all these years actually matters. The Holy Spirit showed me why all of this actually mans something. What the Holy Spirit showed me is the man I used to be and when that happened the man that I am cringed and felt a little sick inside. Then the Holy Spirit let me know that it’s okay because that ISN’T the man who I am today. By the power and grace of the Holy Spirit, because of the salvation I have been given through the blood that Jesus Christ shed as payment for my sins, I am a new man. I am no longer the Mad Brad who made his first publication here in November of 2007.

Praise be to the Lord God Almighty I am not the ONLY one.

I am not the only writer who has published here over the years who is not the same man that they once were when they came here. I am not the only one who can look back over the years of their publications here and see the evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, bringing them out of the man that they used to be and into a sanctified relationship with their Creator.

All of Heaven rejoiced on the day that another mighty man of God proclaimed his Faith here for all the world to see. He made the work of the Holy Spirit in his life clear for all to see. This little spot on the worldwide web gives testimony to that.

Mr. Spock, Doubting Thomas and me

I remember the day that Notamobster proclaimed his Faith in Jesus Christ here. What an incredible day that was. I wish I could find the publication but I think he made that profession of Faith in the comments section of a publication somewhere. I wish I could find it but God knows where it is. It happened here and ALL of Heaven rejoiced when it happened.

BMan has shared with us here how God has made his presence known to him as well. He questions his Faith even as he does a great job of expressing it. I am here to bear witness that the Holy Spirit is doing great and mighty things in his life and am humbled in how he has chosen to express himself here regarding these things.

Jesus Christ said that there shall be more rejoicing in Heaven when one sinner repents than for Ninety Nine people who are in no need of repentance. The fact is that there are no people who are not in need of repentance. Certainly on those times here when people publicly proclaimed their Faith and turned from their old ways, all of Heaven did rejoice. Because of this we know that what has been written here over the years is known to our Creator, both good and bad. The hay and stubble will be burned away. The way we gave praise to our Creator here will remain as an eternal investment. Because of his Grace and Mercy he will cast into the Sea of Forgetfulness all those things that we did here that displeased him. He loves us enough to not keep score of those things. He remembers forever those times when we expressed our Love for him here in this primitive thing we know as the written word.

Just when we thought we were at the lowest point of our existence here on the worldwide Web the Holy Spirit has stepped in and showed us that God has not allowed the many sacrifices we have made of our time and energy here go to waste. The body of our work provides evidence of how people here who once stumbled in Darkness now dance in the Light. The Holy Spirit has worked miracles in the lives of people here and now that we look back at it all the evidence is clear.

When I came here I was a man whose communication with the readership was most heavily influenced by my Fears. My previous publication that I provided a link to here clearly demonstrates this. Today I am a man whose communications here reflect my Faith. The longest publication that I ever made here is a profession of the victory of my Faith over the experiences of my life that for many years generated a crippling Fear in me…

A Question of Character, Malicious Intent, Anxiety and the Path to Liberation

The only reason for this old Blog to remain as a mothballed archive of a massive amount of work that has taken place over the past 9-3/4 Years is that it provides clear evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of those who have published and commented here. Our regulars here in the comments section have given mighty Praise to the Lord God Almighty here right along with us. In the end we know that God has worked his Love through this website to reach out to others and that gives the Real Revo an eternal blessing. Our efforts here to proclaim his Love and the means by which we are offered Salvation have not been wasted. The Creator of the Cosmos is most pleased with the way we have attempted to express our Love for Him and Love for our Neighbors.

The wisest man who ever lived wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes. He spent most of his writing in that book on the subject of Vanity and Vexation of Spirit. He found that all of the things that he had done that should have been considered to be great accomplishments to be nothing more than acts of Vanity that lead to vexation of spirit. At the end of the book he gave the reader the greatest bit of knowledge that a lifetime of discovery had lead him to share with us…

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Jesus Christ offered his conclusion of the whole matter just as King Solomon did…

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

This Sunday I offer my conclusion of this whole matter that we have come to know all these years as “The Real Revo”. My conclusion is found in the words that have been shared here today that were first spoken by King Solomon and Jesus Christ. We have expressed our Love of God here and many have expressed their Faith in Jesus Christ here. As I bring my body of work here to a close there is one last thing that I have to do. It’s something I have never done here before. I’ve always let my Preacher do this through the livestream that you see below.

I want to give anyone who reads this an opportunity to profess their Faith in the comments section below. If you are a person of Faith this is an opportunity to make an eternal investment into someone here who is not and perhaps thereby guide someone you don’t even know toward the Love of God that he has commanded us to share.

If you are a person who has not yet professed their Faith in Jesus Christ and accepted the free gift of Salvation that he offers, I hope that you will  consider doing that some time soon. We are not promised tomorrow. One day you will stand before your Creator and you do not want to be judged for being who you are on your own. The greatest thing that can ever happen to you is to stand before your Creator as one of his children who accepted forgiveness through the Grace that has been extended to you through Jesus Christ.

Let my last words on this old Blog be of eternal consequence.

I must come to the conclusion of this whole matter by writing a few simple words of invitation to anyone here who has not yet accepted the Salvation that is freely offered to all, that they to claim it today.  Proclaim it in the comments section and let it be written on your Heart forever. He has saved my life so many times. Please let him save your life too. Please come to know the Joy of Salvation as I now know it. I came here as Mad Brad but today I am exceedingly a glad Brad. With all of my heart I want you to know the happiness that I know that comes by way of the Almighty Creator of the Cosmos who loves every single one of us more than we can ever comprehend in this life.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you Peace.

One Response to A Sunday Sermon

  1. MadBrad says:

One this day of all days Pastor Herb chose to include some Pro Wrestling content in his Sermon. He mentioned the Undertaker and the Bushwhackers. I believe that Holy Spirit put that there just for me. Well it wasn’t just for me alone but it sure was a comforting message that God knows how much I am hurting right now and that the Holy Spirit will always be my Great Comforter.

Pastor Herb’s Son Josh is on Twitter under the name “Pro Wrestling Preacher” or something like that. Over the past couple of years I have talked to him about having a Pro Wrestling event in the Fellowship Hall as an outreach to our community and in this very sermon Pastor Herb talked about how nothing draws a crowd in Jacksonville Florida like Pro Wrestling and Gospel Quartets. Pastor Herb has now suggested that we host a Pro Wrestling Show that features matches between Gospel Quartets.

I’m just the man in my congregation who can make all that happen.

    It’s a wonderful Life.
