What Hath Obama Wrought?

Here is the scenario: Barack Obama wins the election. Israel concludes that there is no chance the Obama Administration has the wisdom or testicular fortitude to prevent the Iranians from attaining nuclear weapons. Israel sees a nuclear armed Iran as no different than a gas chamber armed Nazi Germany. If Iran attains nuclear weapon capabilities, there will be a second Holocaust. This is something that Israel can never allow to happen at any cost.

Israel has the ability to strike Iran with conventional and/or nuclear weapons. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, however, without over-flying Iraq with aerial refueling in Iraqi airspace. Israel will conclude that, after Obama takes office on January 20th, they will lose the opportunity to gain the right to over-fly Iraq. They will immediately petition the lame-duck Bush Administration for the right to over-fly Iraq which will be granted. Israel strikes Iran sometime between election day and inauguration day.

Obama is required to immediately take a position on the war. Does he support Israel or leave her twisting in the wind? If he supports Israel, his core base of moonbats will turn on him. Is this what Biden was alluding to in his comments that Obama would be tested? If Obama chooses to support Israel, what will that mean? Will Iran make strikes on U.S. forces in Iraq as a result of Israel’s actions? Will Obama be required to increase the number of troops in Iraq as the region ignites in war? Rather than cutting military spending, will Obama be required to increase it? Will he need to reinstate the draft?

Or will he leave Israel twisting in the wind and stage a panicked retreat from Iraq? Will Iran make strikes on US troops pulling out through Kuwait? Will the Straights of Hormuz be shut down preventing the movement of armored assets being withdrawn from Iraq to pass? Will Iran invade a weak and defenseless Iraq?

If Americans are foolish enough to elect the jug-eared jackass from Hyde Park, hold on to your hats. It is going to be a wild ride.

In truth Israel has almost surely concluded that attacking Iran is the only option left. In this sense, it does not make a difference who wins.

Israelis universally believe a nuclear Iran to be a mortal threat. The regime’s record and vicious overt antisemitism are intolerable.

Jews did nothing the last time around. We will not make that mistake again.

AG: I don’t doubt that is true. I think that with a McCain, victory, however, there won’t be the need to do so prior to inauguration day and without US support. An Obama victory next week gives Israel a hard-stop deadline.

  3. James says:

The scenario I see is that the peaceniks and lefties in Israel will welcome Obama’s command to settle on these terms or no military support. So Israel gives up the West Bank, splits Jerusalem, and then gets hit from Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon in mass waves that it cannot stop. It hits Damascus, but by then, it’s been overrun.

  4. R.D. Walker says:

James, wouldn’t Israel unleash nuclear weapons before it let Israel and most of Judaism fall to the barbarians? I mean isn’t that an “all in” scenario?

  5. Mike says:

Why should we fight another war for Israel?!?!?

Why should goyim die again for Israel?!

Just repeat after me: NO MORE WARS FOR ISRAEL!

  6. R.D. Walker says:

You think America is an island, Mike? You think that we can allow the medieval darkness that is radical Islam consume nations that share our values and we not suffer? You would stand aside and watch as another Holocaust happens on CNN? There are things worse than war. I have served in combat but I have never felt anything so terrifying as the craven cowardice you exhibit.

I agree that the US’s and Israel’s interested aren’t identical, but a nuclear conflict in the Middle East is what many experts consider to be “a bad thing.” Putting a stop to it before things get out of hand would be in the human race’s best interests.

Also, Israel hitting Iran isn’t a globally unpopular idea. Earlier this year (June, I believe), the IDF had an exercise simulating a strike on a target 9000 miles away, roughly the distance between Israel and Natanz if you flew in a relatively straight line. This is a departure from previous exercises where IDF pilots flew the distance around Saudi Arabia to Iran and back (a damn long way). This new distance means that they’d have to cross Jordan or Saudi Arabia as well as Iraq. Since you don’t practice what you ain’t gonna do, and neither Jordan nor Saudi Arabia want Iran to have nukes, this suggests that Sunni Arabs have privately told Israel that a strike would be privately tolerated.

Regarding what Obama would do in a crisis, I believe his first instinct is to look inward and ask “why do they hate us?”. He wants US troops out of Iraq and conflict between Israel and Iran gives him a reason (not a good reason, but a reason). I think the little bugger wants to pull the cork on just about every overseas mlitary posting in the mistaken belief that unilateral disarmament will induce some peaceful Age of Aquarius. That’s why he told his audience of liberal toadies that he would need their support in the face of what would be a wildly unpopular move with the general public.

Standing naked before an agressive and uncaring world while letting our allies twist on their crosses – now that’s a wild ride.

The Obama scenario doesn’t end w/Israel bombing Iran. Iran will feel a major embarassment within the muslim community. As one of the after effects of this bombing, Iran will prod Syria to do something stupid (launch missles w/chemical warhead or biological) against Israel. Israel will nuke Damascus. (see Isaiah 17)
