Afghan Schoolgirls Poisoned For Going To School

From Reuters:

About 150 Afghan schoolgirls were poisoned on Tuesday after drinking contaminated water at a high school in the country’s north, officials said, blaming it on conservative radicals opposed to female education.

Since the 2001 toppling of the Taliban, which banned education for women and girls, females have returned to schools, especially in Kabul.

But periodic attacks still occur against girls, teachers and their school buildings, usually in the more conservative south and east of the country, from where the Taliban insurgency draws most support.”

“See? Thoes darn conservatives hate women! It’s a war on women I tell ya!”
—- any stupid liberal who thinks this is the same kind of conservatism that us at the Revo believe in.

I gotta think there’s an especially hot part of hell for animals who would do this.

I know there are many different viewpoints on the Revo about the Afghan War. I’ve had many discussion with both liberals and conservatives about the issue of pulling out under the Obama timeline. One point I always point out is that if you are advocating pulling out early, then you better be prepared for what will happen when we do. Stories like this will be the tip of the iceberg once we leave. This isn’t a theory or a what-if, this type of thing will happen on a mass scale. Every Afghan who helped us, who worked for us, who even took aid from us will be in danger. These little girls who finally had a chance to improve themselves, even if that chance was a snowball chance in hell, it will be gone.

I went there twice and can tell you that this type of thing is common place already, but that the U.S. being there does prevent a large part of it.

I’ve said for years, that if we aren’t gonna let the warriors wage an effective war, we need not spill any more of their blood. We’ve tied both hands behind our back with the Hearts-and-minds ROE. It will go straight back to the way it’s always been, as soon as we leave.
