And now here is a message from the mommy state…

If you live in Los Angeles, your surrogate mommy has a message for you.

The Los Angeles City Council is urging all residents to observe “meatless Mondays” from now on.

A resolution adopted on Oct. 24 reads: “Be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Los Angeles hereby declares all Mondays as ‘Meatless Mondays’ in support of comprehensive sustainability efforts as well as to further encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet to protect their health and protect animals.”

Councilwoman Jan Perry, who introduced the resolution, also wants to ban new fast-food restaurants in South Los Angeles.

Meatless Mondays is from the city that also brought you Triple Tax Tuesdays, Wiped Out Wednesdays, Foreclosure Fridays and gangland assaults the first and third Saturday of every month.

Further proof that secular-progressiveness has become a religion/cult.

The need to be expiated for the sin of living will be mediated by fasting on Monday.

At least they left us Mackerel Snappers meatless Fridays.

  2. Frank in Texas says:

Get ready for meatless, vegetableless, breadless meals when the pockylips hits the economic wall in California. These tools voted for it so get ready for it.

Please re-read the post above. I posted it earlier today from a handheld device and it was so full of typos it was unreadable. I think I have it fixed.

    Sorry.

  4. AW Mens says:

Are you sure this is about food? Could be a day of abstinence from other things in an effort to lower the welfare roles. Maybe it’s a good thing.

“…encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet to protect their health and protect animals.”

Protect animals? So they dont give a rip about them Tuesday thru Sunday?

eating meat isn’t bad for you. It’s refined sugar and complex carbs that cause obesity, NOT meat. Protein is necessary for brain function, regulates metabolism and builds strong muscles.
Abstaining from meat also causes cravings for sugars and starches, which leads to obesity, heart disease and other illnesses.

just wait. unhealthy lifestyle habits will be regulated thru obamacare.

  7. vanagram says:

Step One: All EBT cards reject meat purchases on Mondays.

    LA will burn.

So really not a bad plan after all.

You could have fixed it you know.

I am officially done attempting to post from a smartphone. It isn’t within my capabilities to do so.

You guys know this decree only applies to the white limp wristed citizens of Hell-A don’t you?
The blacks and mexican and asians will not give up their standard diets.
Just wait until zero care tries to tell minorities they have to lose weight. Now THAT will be funny.

  11. notamobster says:

But, then you wouldn’t have believed me. :-) I fix typos all the time. I just felt like picking at you.

My Indian name is “Dances with Typos”.

  13. Bman says:

I don’t know the difference between a typo and a non-typo. Editing is not a strength of mine.

Chinese and Koreans love using Chicken Feet for soup. So do Mexicans. I can’t wait for the full on battle of the Bloods and Crypts ransack a KFC or run rapidly through a Mexican taco truck.

I’ll be watching the news that day from my couch. Should be great entertainment.

  15. Rich says:

    Well, let me dream.

I dream that all meatless Monday’s participants, willing or unwilling, turn that Monday into a day of fasting and prayer for America.

When delt lemons … make stunning lemonade.
