Striking Out: Union Knew Strike Would Kill Hostess

What would make people act against their own best interest like this?

However, as much as he and his fellow union bosses try to spin and finger point the results of the union’s actions that destroyed the Ding Dongs, in a Friday statement, bakery union boss Frank Hurt admits that his union members knew that their strike could kill Hostess:

Our members decided they were not going to take any more abuse from a company they have given so much to for so many years. They decided that they were not going to agree to another round of outrageous wage and benefit cuts and give up their pension only to see yet another management team fail and Wall Street vulture capitalists and ‘restructuring specialists’ walk away with untold millions of dollars.

Throughout this long and difficult process, BCTGM members showed tremendous courage, solidarity and devotion to principle. They were well aware of the potential consequences of their actions but stood strong for dignity, justice and respect.

It’s amazing to me that leftists always talk about the collective or greater good, but are always motivated by the individual benefit. It’s almost like the weaklings are ganging-up on the stronger victim and trying to rape & pillage as much as they can before the victim eventually dies from exhaustion. Weak individuals, finding strength in numbers.

I would respectfully request that the reader take two minutes and read my attempt at Understanding Different Values.

Hostess goes belly-up while Union bosses complain about wages and benefits of the employes. Here is what the “Bakers Union Boss’s” make and they seem to be quite hypocritical and condescending.

As long as the people in the above chart keep getting this amount of pay or more they really don’t give a rats ass about who goes under. More businesses and Entrepreneurs will fail very soon and the country is headed for a reorganization of the difficult kind!

I thought the bakers had at least fucked themselves out of a pension but no.. our tax dollars go to work saving that too. This little government agency has vowed to help them out.
