Is This Guy Related To Geraldo?

According to his neighbors he’s every bit as much of a jerk – besides being in possession of bomb making materials. I don’t know about the ‘Assault rifles’ he had. Are they illegal in New Jersey?

Roberto Rivera, MD

From the New York Post:

A New Jersey doctor who was with Occupy Wall Street protesters last year at Zuccotti Park was arrested and charged with possessing “bomb-making” chemicals and assault rifles in his home, sources said.

Roberto Rivera, 60, had a huge stash of a chemicals used for making bombs in his Ridgewood home, the sources said.

Neighbors in Ridgewood said Rivera, who lives there with his girlfriend, had a combative personality and would cut people off while riding his bike around town.

“He just sneered at me,” said Elizabeth Western.

“He’s just one of those guys who just goes against everything.”

  1. James says:

Police raid a man’s house, arrest him for $1M bail. Problem is, he has committed no crime.

  2. notamobster says:

Possession of bomb-making materials can be said of anyone with some basic automotive fluids and household cleaners.

“Assault weapons” are illegal in New Jersey, I believe.

Then why is FBI involved in a state law violation?

  4. notamobster says:

The bomb-making. It falls under the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives. Same-same, if the weapons were converted to full-auto.

Looks like his big brother’s hat.

Rivera is the Puerto Rican equivalent of Johnson or Adams. Not quite a Smith, but definitely in the top 5.
