More guns leading to less crime confuses some…

In Virginia, predictable news.

Gun-related violence has fallen steadily since 2006 in Virginia despite record firearm sales, according to a university professor’s analysis.

No surprise there. It is the same everywhere. Criminals are less likely to victimize a population known to be armed. It is a pretty obvious observation, right?

Not to everyone.

Andrew Goddard, president of the Virginia Center for Public Safety that lobbies for gun control, questioned the significance of the statistics.

“It’s quite possible that you can sell a whole lot more guns and crime is still going down,” Goddard said. “But is the crime going down because more people are buying guns, or is the crime going down because the crime is going down?”

Hmmmmm… That raises some other questions.

It is getting dark because the sun is going down or is it getting dark because it is getting dark?

Is it getting cold because the temperature is going down or is it getting cold because it is getting cold?

Is Andrew Goddard looking foolish because he makes foolish comments or is he looking foolish because he is looking foolish?

Discuss.

Godtard’s rationale makes me think tabout taking your indoor thermometer on a hot day, sticking it in the freezer for 5 minutes, and claiming relief from the heat because the themometer now reads 20 degrees cooler than before.

    “Oh! Much better!”

Nothing is dumber than a anti gun lib.
They will willfully ignore facts in rabid support of their closed minded gunaphobia.

Andrew Goddard has succeeded in destroying his credibility on any issue. He has shown himself to be a biased commentator who is unwilling to follow the trail of evidence to its logical conclusion.
