In Barry’s Egypt: Slavery Is Once Again Legal!

Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood approve new constitution.

No more equal rights for women; owning slaves not banned…

This is not really news to anyone who reads here. Just saying “I told you so.” Egypt, under Mubarak, was a puppet-state of western living in the Middle East. He was a tyrant, but he allowed women equal rights. Sure, he imprisoned political dissidents, but they were mostly the same people who are in charge now. I can’t imagine why he’d want them secured.

They celebrated their rich heritage and culture. Now, they’re talking about destroying the pyramids and the Sphynx. ┬áNow, if you are an infidel woman, and decide to travel to Egypt – any man who wants, can take you off the street and make you his sex slave.

Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote.
