Irresponsible Gun Use

Here is a video of New York cops killing a dog. Admittedly it is a pit bull but it was protecting its owner.

The cops shoot it, first, shooting towards the crowd, secondly toward each other. The dog is on a concrete sidewalk. The chance of injury from a bullet ricocheting toward people is very much a concern.

These cops need a lot of training. They unnecessarily put others at risk.

Do not watch this if you love animals.

    I love animals. They’re tasty.

I agree with your assessment. That was a dangerous shot to take and a bystander could have been hurt.

I gotta say, however, that the draw and shot that took down the moving dog while the cop moved too was pretty impressive.

As for the dog, if I am armed and a pit-bull is coming at me, that vicious cur will be deader than fried chicken.

No, got to go against you on this one. The cops seem to be setting back and not provoking the dog, even with it stand there acting aggressive. If you listen, they are also screaming at the dumb women who is close to the dog to move away. They only move in once the dog attacks the women (about the five second mark). The shots were not the best shot, and there was a danger of others getting hit for sure. However, I thinking being charged by a pit bull in that situation was enough to justify the shots. Hindsight is one thing, but in the heat of the moment I would have smoked that dog the same way.
