When I look at this collage of photos of the United States at night, I feel an almost overwhelming urge to move to a place that is darker. Anyone else feel that way?

If you can’t clearly see the Milky Way at night, then you’re living amongst too many peeps.
I can see it on a clear night. Sometimes I can see Andromeda when there is no moon.
I’ve recently noticed an easy way to tell if the area is worthy of consideration: hats.
I’m enormously more comfortable in places where my field hat is acceptable and normal, lol.
I found out, to see if a place is worthy of living in, if the gas pumps say, “Prepay after dark”, then I suggest to ease on down the road.
I agree, Bman. Michigan is still pay after pumping. I really like that!
Be prepared to live in a desert.
Population is distributed by rainfall.

James, I’m in the desert and I highly recommend it!
Been in one of those dark spots for almost 8 years now. Ain’t never goin’ back!
Oh give me land, lots of land under starry skies above……
Yeah, God-willing, I ain’t ever living in the desert again!
Other ways to know you are living in the right place…
You are served by a volunteer fire department.
The only time you lock your pickup is when you go to church on Sunday otherwise people leave bags of zucchini, tomatoes or sweet corn on the seat and you already have too much yourself.
It is considered rude not to wave or at least raise a finger when you pass another car on the road.
These actually apply to me.
At one time the west began on the west shore of the Mississippi river. This satellite image shows that it has moved west – probably 200-300 miles.
We live in one of the darkest sections of the map. RD is right. If you don’t wave or at least raise a finger you are rude.
I love it.
I see Quad Cities,Dubuque,Cedar Rapids,Iowa City,Waterloo,and DSM.
I just turned out my porch light, they’re watching me.
Having trouble convincing the better half to move into a darker spot of the globe. At least out a bit farther.
