Syria prepares to deploy weapons of mass destruction

Remember when, following the attacks on September 11, 2001, it was considered unacceptable that hostile Islamic regimes be in possession of weapons of mass destruction? My, how things change. Iran is stepping up its uranium processing and Syria is loading sarin in weaponry.

The Syrian military is prepared to use chemical weapons against its own people and is awaiting final orders from President Bashar Assad, U.S. officials told NBC News on Wednesday.

The military has loaded the precursor chemicals for sarin, a deadly nerve gas, into aerial bombs that could be dropped onto the Syrian people from dozens of fighter-bombers, the officials said.

Sarin is 500 times more deadly than cyanide.

Sarin has a high volatility relative to similar nerve agents. Inhalation and absorption through the skin pose a great threat. Even vapor concentrations immediately penetrate the skin. People who absorb a non-lethal dose but do not receive immediate appropriate medical treatment may suffer permanent neurological damage.

Even at very low concentrations, sarin can be fatal. Death may follow in one minute after direct ingestion of a lethal dose if antidotes, typically atropine and pralidoxime, are not quickly administered.

Initial symptoms following exposure to sarin are a runny nose, tightness in the chest and constriction of the pupils. Soon after, the victim has difficulty breathing and experiences nausea and drooling. As the victim continues to lose control of bodily functions, the victim vomits, defecates and urinates. This phase is followed by twitching and jerking. Ultimately, the victim becomes comatose and suffocates in a series of convulsive spasms.

There is a potentially serious hurt coming to Syria.

Lets not forget the wons self declared war against quadaffi and the leftist talking point R2P they used to validate the unlawful bomb dropping during the enforcement of the UN declared No Fly Zone over Libya,
Syria has been in a civil war where thousands have died. What do you want to bet the use of sarin (nasty stuff) will result in a call to involve ourselves in another conflict in the ME.

Looks as if Obama is taking another page out of the FDR/TR/LBJ never let a manufacturer-ed crisis go to waste. Look for a US lead MB/AQ takeover of Syria and Jordon soon.

Sarin is not a good way to go. It is a concentrated Organophosphate pestacide. If you want to see what happens look up organo Phospate Posioning. I did some research with it years afo and it scared the crap out of me. I kept syringes loaded with atropine and 2-PAM within arms reach just in case I contaminated myself. Scary shit, and I was just killing white rats.

Ray, are organo phosphates what duPont puts in their ag bug killers? Can you get atropine and 2pam on the open market?
