   If we “go over the cliff” Obama gets what he wants (massive tax increases, cuts to the Military), can blame the Republicans for it, and then can take credit for partially rolling them back for the 47% who don’t pay any income taxes anyways! Democrats may be evil but they are VERY sophisticated in the art of propaganda!! They have learned very well from the Marxist/Communist/Fascist idols and have even further perfected the tactics used by them.

   After we go over the cliff, Obama will immediately start demagoging the “horror” of what was done to the middle class and hit the campaign trail demanding the Republican House pass tax cuts. He won’t even have to argue for tax increases on the wealthy, they will already be in place. He will look like a hero calling for tax cuts while blaming the GOP for the disastrous fiscal cliff.

   Everybody is assuming that Obama wants to reverse the economic slide. I don’t think so. I think he is pushing the country into depression so he can rebuild it into a different model.

   People call him a Marxist and he may be but he seems to be moving us toward a different model. I am thinking his goal is to have it all controlled by him. Monarchy, dictatorship, something like that.

       I don’t know. I don’t think he has the balls. I think he wants the title and the power, but doesn’t have the will to do the work.

       He just wants the position – not the job. That’s why Valerie Jarrett exists.

   US GDP (which includes government activity that produces nothing of value) for 2012 is about $15T.
   Deficit spending for 2012 is $1.1T.

   The average profit margin for US companies is about 5-6%.
   $1.1T/15T = 7.3%

   Tax increases could confiscate ALL profits of US business, and still not cover the out of control spending. Any real solution must include huge spending cuts. Today. But this won’t happen. Voters won’t allow it. Neither will those in office.

   This is how civilizations end.

   Obama is trying to do what happened in Rome in 44BC, when Julius Caesar became dictator for life. Rome had been a republic for 500 years, until populist pressures created a civil war in which general Julius Caesar captured Rome. Caesar was promptly executed (beware the ides of March) and Caesar Augustus became the first Roman Emperor. The government never returned to a republic. Although Rome captured more territory to finance the excesses of its emperors (sound familiar to presidential vacations?), that change in form of government signaled the start of the decline.

   We all knew we were going Thelma & Louise, as soon as Barry got re-elected. He just wants to humiliate the GOP leadership before it happens and then he completely eviscerates them.

   He’s doing a fair job at it. Our leadership sucks. I hear rumor of Eric Cantor bucking for Speaker. Republican messaging sucks. If only they’d encouraged the tea-party. What we’re going to see – from the people – is a massive tea-party-with-an-attitude movement develop. It will be marginalized, and most Americans will move forward*, toward liberalism.

   Free candy is awful tempting to a lot of folks. I think Republicans are on a downward trend at this point.

   Over or not, I don’t even think they know. But if some meaningful news (or a deal) is announced between Friday 12/21 noon and Saturday morning 12/22 , it will not be a conspiracy theory, it will be a conspiracy.
