The Coming Gun-Ban Surge

PrepareGunControl

I watched a few minutes of George Stephanopoulos’ panels this morning, just to get a sense of what’s going on, what the “vibe” is on the Sandy Hook Shooting.

Predictably, it’s the “ban guns” argument. We have too many guns, we only do background checks for 60% of them, it’s easier to buy a gun than a car, we need to get tougher on guns, assault rifles belong in the hands of the military, etc. But they’re all careful to button up their anti-gun tirades with the phrase, “… but we don’t want to take away Americans’ Second Amendment rights.”

Even George Will, one of only two conservatives on (the other was Chaffetz), allowed that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t prohibit the banning of certain types of firearms. Not exactly helping the cause right there; that’s the sort of allowance that leaves a nation to only carry bolt-action deer rifles.

Ladies and gentlemen, build your defenses. The tidal wave is coming. It only hasn’t hit yet because people are holding back, because they are allowing for a period of time for the nation to grieve and don’t want to be seen as “politicizing the tragedy.” Once that minimum span of time is over, the gun-ban movement is going to surge.

That frikkin quiff Feinstein says she’s going to introduce the AW ban again as soon as congress is back in session.
    Despise that evil bitch.

  2. Tatersalad says:

There is absolutely NO reason to curtail America’s 2nd. Amendment. This Amendment is sacred and will not be destroyed by the liberal, special interest pandering, Constitutional hating Democratic Party.

So, imagine a world without semi-automatics. Would the killer Friday been able to do the same amount of damage with a pump shotgun and two revolvers with speed loaders? Of course. No question. (Speed loaders can be made at home from cardboard so there is no banning them.)

Nobody talks much about pump shotguns and revolvers… for now.

If they ever manage to ban semi-automatic weapons – like the over century old M-1911 .45 cal – they will come for the revolvers and pump shotguns. Guaranteed.

These anti-gun fanatics pretend to care about certain types of weapons but it is a blatant lie. They want them all.

Men pose with scary 21st century semi-automatic weapons.

My rights come from God Almighty! They can only take the rights you allow them to take. They will never take my ability to defend myself and my family. Not ever.

The President is working the crowd, too. Tears, biting the lower lip, “I feel your pain!”(Clinton’s meme). Now, Mr. Obama is going to a vigil and will speak. Full frontal attack on the 2nd Amendment.

Aided and abetted by complicit MSM, social networks and New Left minions. Yes, definitely, the tsunami will hit and it will hit very hard. Every drumbeat will lead to restrictions on weapons of all sorts, reloading equipment and ammo, too.

Gun powder will be in short supply as will any primers and related materials…yes, they’re loaded-fer-bear…they are. Pray.Amen.

Got a question, weren’t these crazed shooters having counseling by licensed pyschologists and psychotherapists? Didn’t these “specialists” prescribe medication to these crazed shooters? Aren’t these so-called licensed physicians responsible? In other words, a weapon is responsible, but the perpetrator (or user of the weapon) is not? Oh! And the licensed physician doesn’t bear any responsibility at all? But it’s the second amendments fault??What’s missing in this scenario? An inanimate object is responsible, but a human being pulling the trigger isn’t??? That’s what MSM would have Americans believe. Strange times, these.

What confuses me — and I’ve pondered this to the point of having a near-migraine — is why so many people across the country have already convinced themselves that such an attempt will inevitably be successful, and there’s absolutely nothing they can do about it. Therefore, action of any kind — contacting state legislators, calling their respective Governors’ offices, involving themselves on the local level, whatever — hasn’t even entered their minds. I excrete you not. It’s like cotton candy in the rain. Have Americans really become so weak-natured? Are they lazy? Do they just not know what to do, where to start, or what steps to take locally?

yup to all the above, in addition a drudge report indicated that mom took him to the shooting range regularly to “pass on her fasination with firearms” they are going to go after ranges and parents who pass on shooting skills to children.

Got my seven year old son one of these for Christmas. It has been under the tree for more than a week.

Single shot, bolt action .22 short enough for a kid’s short arms. Also bought a bunch of subsonic .22 shorts. Good for plinking but won’t go far.

I gotta tell you, this shit takes some of the joy out of it. Mrs. Walker doesn’t want him spouting off about it in school and I don’t blame her.

I am not feeling pressure from the leftist media. When I bought the thing, however, it had a totally different feel. Second graders and guns….

      Am I being foolish?

      • notamobster says:

        No.

I bought my daughter her first rifle (Crickett .22LR) when she turned 7. It hasn’t forced her to kill anyone yet. Sam’s the same age. It’s a good age to give them a firearm that is theirs, but have limited access to. It’s passing down a love of shooting.

Don’t let these fools make you question your values.

  9. R.D. Walker says:

Two Senators with A ratings from the NRA get on the gun control bandwagon.

    Drip Drip Drip

  10. notamobster says:

Do you believe they actually changed their minds, or (more likely) is Obama calling for Democrats to take one for the team, again?
