The Left gives up on civil society…

Well, it is nice to see the left come out of the closet and admit they are violent totalitarians. Here is the plan as articulated by a Des Moines Register columnist.

• Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did. (I would also raze the organization’s headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that’s optional.) Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that “prying the guns from their cold, dead hands” thing works for me.

• Then I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control.

Yes, I know the idiot is just trying to be funny with over-the-top rhetoric. Still, the column pretty much proves the left’s outrage over “violent eliminationist rhetoric” was just so much bullshit.

Has Donald Kaul thought far enough ahead, that with there will be no armed fellow citizens to protect him against a tyrannical oppression? No. It has never occurred to him that governments go bad.
Ancient Romans were forbidden to carry weapons or poisons.

Didn’tchaknow, James, that such things can’t happen in America? Why, we are enlightened and civilized and stuff! We have no need for such ghastly and crude tools anymore!
