Illinois to Go for the Guns

The Illinois legislature is expected to pass a bill to disarm its orderly, peaceable citizens and law abiding citizens while leaving virtually every gangster, bandit, psychopath, murderer, robber and mobster in the state fully armed and ready for business.

If there are any armed criminals in Iowa reading this, I suggest you cross the river and ply your trade in Illinois. Your occupational safety will be much greater among its disarmed, cowering populace. You could get killed in Iowa. Now, off you go!

Illinois Senate Democrats appear to be moving forward with new gun control measures in the waning days of the legislative session, with one lawmaker telling that he will introduce a bill to limit ammunition magazines to 10 or fewer rounds. Another Democratic lawmaker confirmed to that he is pushing a separate assault-weapons ban.

Amid the developments, the Illinois State Rifle Association issued an “urgent alert” to its members warning them that Democratic legislators would try to push through last-minute anti-gun legislation.

“There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering,” the group stated in its alert. “You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the state police and avoid prosecution.”

Seriously, this crap will be in the courts instantly.

    It will always be legal to have a gun if you are a cop, body guard, drug dealer or liberal media host.
    Cook County tried to pass a .05 per round tax regardless of caliber. Put that on a box of .22s

      Hmmmmm… would expensive ammo stop mad dog killers with the intent to shoot up a school or movie theater in a supersized suicide? Are they really going to balk over the price of ammo or will they just cash out the 401K?

      Liberals are idiots.

    Going to try posting links 🙂 Here we go… The texts of both bills pushed forward for a vote..

    In the opening of both bills they specifically cite the recent USCC rulings as their ability to do what they’re attempting.

      So, if you have a 20 round magazine in Illinois a year from now you would automatically be a felon. Nice.

      • Rockheim says:

        Not only that. If you have a Handgun with a detachable magazine.. You are also a felon. And no grandfathering either except for some rifles (Section B).. Absolutely no pistols will be grandfathered.

        This is how they define a verboten pistol under section C..

        (C) a semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has any of the following:
        (i) a folding, telescoping, or thumbhole stock;
        (ii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles the barrel, and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned;
        (iii) an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip;
        (iv) a manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; or
        (v) a semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm;
        (C-1) a semi-automatic rifle or pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition;
        (C-2) a semi-automatic rifle or a pistol with the capacity to accept a detachable magazine, a muzzle brake, or muzzle compensator;

        See that last one there.. C-2. Any semi-auto that has the CAPACITY to accept a detachable magazine.

        • R.D. Walker says:

          Yep. Bans every handgun except revolvers and breach loaders.

          I suppose you could permanently attach a ten round magazine in a handgun and load it from the breach….

            “Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education…”
            They probably don’t even know murder is a crime let alone possession of a handgun.

          I have a CCW permit in Iowa. What if I was in Davenport or Dubuque and thoughtlessly crossed the river into the Police State with my sidearm? *Shudder*

          Must be very careful. That river is the line between freedom and hard prison time.

    • Rockheim says:

      Nah.. No trading or sales allowed at this show.. It’ll merely be a showcase of what you’re no longer allowed to buy in Illinois..

    BTW.. Just to add to the insanity that is the state of Chicago or “Madiganistan”…

    Denny’s boots out cops because their guns upset a patron..

    RD, be careful when you go fishing on the Mississippi the border starts in the middle. And no riverboat trips.
