Weekend Tomfoolery: The Future Of Drone Warfare

NSFW or those sensitive to foul language

This terrifying & incredibly awesome technology is brought to you by Terminator/Skynet. May none of your dinner parties end so badly.

Notice that each rotor has independent variable pitch control to control the roll and attitude of the aircraft.

I’m told that the video is a fake. Very good job. If folks are making this tech in CG it won’t be long before they (DARPA) are making it for real.

This is the future of drone warfare.

Incredible. Awesome. Scary.

If you played Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, you can play with it in action. even though it’s a video game.

  2. Greg B says:

A friend of mine who is into these things says the video is fake.
Bummer. I thought it was cool as hell.

Duly noted, above. Still, is there anyone among us, who doubts that this is the future of drone warfare?

      • Greg B says:

        Oh absolutely!
When I was a kid, we had devised an exploding warhead for an Estes rocket utilizing gunpowder & rifle primers. We were always a little too scared of our parents to actually build the thing.
Point being, I KNOW regular people are thinking, “hmmm, some bigger motors, a lightweight .22…..
        yeah, that’ll work!”

  3. James says:

The drone should be blowing the smoke away.
    It isn’t.

  4. Slaphappypap says:

I have to go with Krauthhammer on this drone situation. “The first person to shoot one of these down in the United States is going down in history as an American Patriot.”

I’m not sure that’s the exact quote, but it’s pretty close.

  5. vanagram says:

Ok, the drone flies behind the car–then the car blows up. That means the moron had to be firing at the car from behind — or basically firing back toward himself. So, its either
    a) fake
    b) made by a very stupid guy.
