Pat Buchannan: “There Would Be A Revolution” If Government Confiscated Weapons

This was on the McLaughlin Group. There is video there.

JOHN MCLAUGHLIN: With no Second Amendment, Congress could pass a law, as limited as this: banning assault rifles or as sweeping as prohibiting all private firearm ownership and requiring the surrender of all privately held firearms.

BUCHANAN: There would be a revolution in this country!

MCLAUGHLIN: Baloney! That doesn’t mean you can’t own one, but you have to put it in first and then go try —

BUCHANAN: There are 270 million guns in this country right now, John, and they’re adding to them at a rate of 16 million a year.”

Why is that libs don’t get that criminals don’t bother with the law?! All they would be doing is taking the guns out of the hands of responsible adults and making things for criminals all that much easier! It’ll be real easy for a bad guy to use his illegally obtained gun to hold up a store if he knows nobody will have the means to fight back…

Simply put, because they’re stupid. They’re intellectually dishonest & intellectually lazy.

Gun control is not & has never been about guns. It has, always & everywhere, been about control. Even the run of the mill liberals who seem like nice people, want the government to FORCE YOU to live as THEY see fit.

No other conclusion can be drawn from the evidence. To wit:

      1) People getting fat? Write a law.
      2) People being offensive? Write a law.
      3) People getting shot? Write a law.
      4) People not getting loans they want? Write a law.
      5) People (legally) avoiding taxes? Write a law.

No other conclusion can be drawn from the evidence shown, than “liberals (all of them) have petty tyrants at the core of their being”. They want to use the governments monopoly of force to re-engineer human nature. It will not work. It has never worked, but they’ll keep trying.

The government has become the criminals.

That’s a great question, Jay. I think libs are lazy. It takes a lot less work to pass another law that it does to deal with the problems. It’s easier to emote about something than it is to think it through and arrive at a decision. It’s far less trouble to sit around with your lib friends and decry the suggestions of thinking people and, jointly, make fun of others.

Anyone who prefers to be fed, housed, and clothed by someone else, including the government, rather than getting up early and busting your hump to create a better life for yourself and those you love is lazy.
