Utah City Council Proposes Gun in Every Home

This is not the first time this has happened. A city in Georgia did it about twenty years ago.

In this case there seems to be some question about whether the city council wants to recommend that the head of the household have a gun – which is what the news reader says, or if they want to mandate it. If it’s mandate I don’t support it. Gateway Pundit has the story:

The city council of Spring City, Utah believes more guns means less crime. The city council recommends that every head of household own a firearm. They believe that guns in the hands of properly trained citizens will deter any criminal.”

Heck yeah! I’d even vote for a millage increase to allow the city to hire a firearms trainer for the general public. Make him available during normal business hours to anyone who shows up at the range.

I love Utah! :) Last night our police chief said he was willing to teach a concealed carry class for Councilmembers and their spouses. People are preparing.
