“The Second Amendment Protects The Right To Shoot Tyrants”

This from Judge Andrew Napolitano:

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, thus, with the same instruments they would use upon us. If the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had had the firepower and ammunition that the Nazis did, some of Poland might have stayed free and more persons would have survived the Holocaust.”

Gee “foreign & domestic” enemies include the president?

  2. Frank in Texas says:

Teh Won would be the domestic enemy. Foreign enemies know better than to mess with our “well trained militia”.

I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Napolitano speak twice, and I’ve spoken with him once. He’s a sharp man that has a far better understanding of our Constitution than the vast majority of our elected representatives. I feel empowered knowing he’s on our side.

I love it when popular figures call attention to the real reason for the 2nd Amendment. Every time people hear it, the thought becomes more normalized. It’s like kryptonite to liberals.

Agreed. It needs to be said more often. And again. And about a thousand more times. The “2nd Amendment Is For Hunting” meme needs to die an excruciating and bloody death.
