New York Fires Auditor Who Found Abuse of Federal Hurricane Sandy Funds

No good deed goes unpunished in New York as the state has abruptly cut off a contract with the independent auditor who found that the city and state had been wasting federal money meant to be spent on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.

Thomas Sadowski, the fired consultant, told the Times Union that he was escorted out of the building when he visited the New York Office of Emergency Management shortly after he filed his report on November 17.

The state hired Sadowski for his extensive experience in emergency procurement management with the federal government. The certified public accountant also did similar work for 10 years at the U.S. Department of Interior’s Inspector General’s office. Sadowski also trained the U.S. Forest Service, Alaska Fire Service, National Interagency Fire Center, Colorado Wildfire Academy and other government agencies.

“I didn’t believe I did anything to be escorted off the premises,” Sadowski told the Times Union. “I wasn’t trying to get back at anybody or get anybody in trouble.” But Sadowski said he believed he was fired for finding the waste. “I was relieved of my duties because I identified these problems,” he said.”

Sadowsky was likely searched for evidence while he was escorted out. Now that evidence will be covered up.
If Sadowsky was smart, he would have documented and taken evidence offsite first. Then he could sue, and push for prosecution of the funds theft with the state attorney general.

Wondering if you’ve been censored. I followed a link about NBC reporting an ar was NOT used at sandy hook and its not here.

I posted the video. I apparently missed the fact that it was a month old. RD pointed it out to me so I took it down.

      No shenanigans.

    Is this the link, Lamar?

Check out the comments on the post. The only people who censor The Revo, are the names of the writers on the right sidebar.

I think this is the one that went up earlier.

I saw it at least a couple weeks ago, and I think it was from Dec. 17th.
But never was there another mention of it until now.

I saw that post from Doc as well this morning.. It was there until I clicked on the comments.. then I got a DB error. I logged in and it was gone. So I’m assuming it was more about digital gremlins playing their games than any kind of nefarious shenaniganizing.

I looked in the comments log. No record of it. Huh…

I know R.D. posted the first comment this morning. I saw his comment around 8AM Pacific time.

I don’t know what happened to any missing comments. They’re not even in the deleted bin. The last comment put in the trash was put there by Locke N Load on 17Jan13.

              RD? Any ideas?

          “Shenaniganizing”. Nice. You’re a wordsmith. :-)

Oh, if that was the video, it is now back up for anyone who wants to watch it. I would dare say that before folks jump to conclusions of “shenaniganizing”, they should definitely look at the digital gremlins… It would be easier to censor the video at it’s source(youtube), where the world will reach it, than to censor at The Revo where the equivalent of a small town will see it.

          • Greg B says:

            Whoa! How did that happen?
I just put a link in my comment. Not embed the actual video.
An another note, just to be sure we are all on the same page, the particular thread we are writing in now has nothing to do with the missing post.
It was a completely separate topic.

I try to put up the embed code when someone posts a video link.

Only editors (writers) can post embeds, so I try to help out because most people won’t watch a video if they have to go to another page.
