“Obama: I’d Get More Done If GOP Wasn’t Punished By Fox and Limbaugh for Working With Democrats”

I’ll bet he would. The Republicans in the House and the Senate are in the tank for him. There is almost no resistance left. Right wing media and ‘fair, balanced’ media are all that’s left. And Obama doesn’t like it. From Newsbusters:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Well, look, I’ve always believed that there are a bunch of Republicans of goodwill who would rather get something done than suffer through the sort of nasty atmosphere that prevails in Washington right now. It’s not a fun time to be a member of Congress.”

That is his idea of compromise: The Republicans compromising their principles and agreeing with him. Doesn’t work the other way, though.

I think were are some glimmers of hope in the Republican party. Tennessee’s Bob Corker sponsored the “no budget no pay for Congress” bill. He donates his entire salary to charity. He voted against the stimulus. He voted against the bloated 2010 budget. He voted against all 2012 spending bills and says he will not vote for any spending bill until action is taken to balance the budget. When he was mayor of Chattanooga he was credited with a 26% decrease in crime and a 50.2% reduction in violent crimes between 2001 and 2004. He opposed the federal bailout of failing U.S. automakers preferring that they go through the bankruptcy process. Corker co-sponsored banning gun registration & trigger lock law in Washington DC. He is pro second Amendment and has stated it has nothing to do with hunting. There are some things about him I do not like because he is not properly aligned with my libertarian values. As mayor of Chattanooga he was thoroughly bashed by public unions for tying their pay to performance.
