We could disarm Americans within a generation…

So says the San Diego police chief.

San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne is fully supportive of the Obama/Feinstein gun grab, and says if lawmakers play it right Americans can be completely disarmed within “a generation.”

Lansdowne has gone on record saying: “I could not be more supportive of the president for taking the position he has. I think it’s courageous with the politics involved in this process. [And] I think it’s going to eventually make the country safer.”

He made it clear that it may take “a generation,” but new laws could eventually take all guns off the streets.

Don’t delude yourself America. The fascists have plenty of stormtroopers and they are practiced at sounding reasonable.

This one, for example, explains that the cops are outgunned and his solution is to disarm law abiding, peaceable citizens thus ensuring that they are completely unable to defend themselves at all. Self-defense, he explains, is only for the police.

This guy has 41 years of institutionalization in police work. It seems his institutionalized life has resulted in a closed system of deduction that is unaffected by empirical evidence. It is clear he sees the citizenry as made up of government, criminals and serfs. There is no fourth category in his corrupted worldview.

Make no mistake, there is no shortage of men anxious to to take on the role of cadre of American fascism.

The idea that only police should have guns makes sense only if you buy into the idea that government officials are, by virtue of being government officials, somehow endowed with greater wisdom, judgment, and temperament than the average citizen and are thus uniquely able to wield power without abusing it. There is zero evidence anywhere, in any period of history, suggesting that that is the case. So, I’m just going to continue to hold on to my guns, thank you very much.

On what political or philosophical foundation is the idea that only the police have the right to self defense based? I don’t think it ever occurred to this petit-totalitarian that individuals have as much right to defend their lives as do the police.

Under our Constitution, under the principals of ancient common law and the as agreed upon by the well-trod theory of natural rights, a civilian police officer has no lawful right to use a firearm that is greater than or any different than a civilian’s right. A police officer’s right to use a firearm is governed by standards identical to those that govern a civilian’s use of a firearm.

The argument that the predators are heavily armed and, therefore, we must disarm their prospective victims but not the police is a foul, nasty, corrupt and fascist view.

This guy makes my blood run cold. I have never had even the slightest run in with the law. I have never been cuffed. I have never been detained. My worst offence is speeding and it has been many years since I have done that. I support law enforcement. This guy, however, scares the living shit out of me.

A generation, huh? Yes, I could buy that. And how do you start working on the process? How do you change the the future face of the country? Why, surround yourself with chidren, of course! Bronco surrounded himself with kids during his executive orders as a symbolic gesture that the 2nd ammendment’s fate relies on the children of today.

These sociaists are long term planners. One generation is nothing to them. They plan a hundred years in the future Just look at the “Progressives” from 1900 on. It has been a continous journey to the left. To tell the truth I’m not sure we can really turn things around without an armed rebellion.

On the flip side, we can also dapose the tyrannical fascists in probably less time.
    Just sayin’.

  6. DocO says:

So super-genius cop, you’ve seen an increase in assault weapon violence in your jurisdiction despite the assault weapon ban that is in place? It’s almost like criminals don’t obey laws.

What’s that, the only solution is a nation wide ban? Yep, that totally works, just look at the war on drugs and prohibition.

He isn’t an idiot. He has fascist instincts, but he isn’t an idiot. He would agree that new laws won’t do any good. He isn’t talking about just new laws, however. He is talking about confiscation. Removal. Destruction. Getting rid of the guns.

I can’t argue with him on that. If there were no more guns, there would be no more gun crime. There would just be the kind of crime in which the women, small men, old people and children are cowed by strong thugs. The equalizer would be gone. Big, cruel goons would have no reason to fear the small and feeble.

Of course there is a nightmarish hell between hear and the no-more-guns utopia he is promoting. There is increased crime. There is civil strife. There is authoritarianism. There is oppression. There is tyranny. He is saying that he is willing to take that path and acknowledges we will be on it for a generation.

He is right. You can have a world without gun crime if the world is gun free. He might as well say that we are going to engage in a “Great Leap Forward”. Once the Kulaks Intellectuals capitalists Jews guns have been eliminated, we will have paradise.

I was a police officer for about 15 years. I’m here to tell you, there’s more police officers that support the second amendment than there are officers against it. Sure there are idiots like there chief in San Diego, but he’s thankfully a minority…

  8. trebor snoyl says:

Most police chiefs are political appointees of the mayor or city council, so their views have to be in line with the governing elite. On the other hand, most rank and file cops, such as those belonging to the Police Guild, are pro 2nd Amendment and many are NRA members.

I’m surprised that PBS allowed him to come in to their studio and go on the air with blondie carrying a cocked and locked 1911 pistol.
