Chuck Hagel wants you to know a couple of things…

First, you don’t have to worry about it being a policy making position. He is just going to do what he is told. Secondly, he may not know much about national defense, but if he gets to be Secretary of Defense, he intends to know more than he knows now.

That’s what he said. Lend an ear.

  1. James says:

    Hagel’s not the problem.
The decision makers who appointed him are the problem.

Didn’t Obama say something along the line like ‘I’m smarter than any of my appointees’?
And the reason for doing this is?

  2. Frank in Texas says:

This is just another moron in a long line of morons that Obama has picked so that he can be the smartest person in the room. None of the people that he has selected for a high position in his administration has any background or talent to perform the duties they are assigned. You would be better off picking the first 50 names from any big city phone book to run this country than the azzwipes that are running it in Washington DC.

That was honestly the biggest shitshow of a cabinet confirmation hearing I’ve seen in… forever. Krauthammer, a bit older than I, seemed to agree tonight.

He was incompetent, he bumbled, he stumbled, didn’t know anything about anything, looked weak and spineless…

And he’s still going to be confirmed.

  4. R.D. Walker says:

Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. Maybe we are better off if Obama hires morons to implement his crapulent policies. I mean, we’d rather have bad policies implemented poorly rather than effectively, right?

Good point. He appoints imbeciles to look like the smartest man in the room, but to those who recognize leadership, his buffoons, ahem… appointees, make him look like a piss poor leader. He just makes himself look worse, but then, his goal is to drag America down in global standing.

      These appointees do that.
