American Sniper, Chief Chris Kyle, Murdered In Texas

Holy crap!

I’m absolutely gobsmacked by this news. Chief Kyle is a former SEAL who is distinguished by having more confirmed kills than any other sniper in American history.

Chris Kyle exemplified the warrior ethos. Having served 4 tours in Iraq and been dubbed “the Devil of Ramadi” by insurgents, he was a humble, quiet professional. Hearing him speak, you could tell that he was raised right. He stood for old-fashioned American values. He was a warrior, a patriot, and a man to look up to.

We lost a hero today, America. Rest in peace, brother!

Today Chris Kyle was shot and killed at a shooting range at the Rough Creek Lodge in Texas, murdered along with a second individual.

Chris had been volunteering his time to help Marine Corps veterans suffering from PTSD and mentoring them. Part of this process involved taking these veterans to the range where one of them snapped and killed Chris and his neighbor for reasons that remain unknown at this time. The perpetrator then stole Chris’ vehicle in an attempt to escape but we have received word that the police have since arrested him.

As of about 10 minutes ago, when I saw you typing this up, there was almost no one covering this story yet. The extent seemed to be that up there, and theBlaze. And Twitter.

Aside from that though, this is EFFED UP man. Just plain wrong. I am anxiously following this story for updates.

I got it from RAA. They’re friends with Chris Kyle and found out right away. I follow his stuff on facebook. I really like the guy. After reading “American Sniper” and watching his various interviews, he was just the kind of guy I get along with. The kind you wanna sit and have a beer with…

What a shame – and to die at the hands of a Marine w/ PTSD after surviving 4 tours. Man… Damn.

Sidenote: Am I hyper-paranoid to imagine this being used by the left?

Headline: “Deadliest Sniper in US History Survives 4 Tours in Iraq, Doesn’t Survive Texas”

I think it’ll be conveniently used to push for revocation of gun rights for troops with ptsd or other “mental illness”. Anyone who ever served in combat will be a target.

Wow, I read his book last winter. After reading the book, it’s so hard to believe that this is the way he would go, what a terrible loss.

My first thought after reading initial reports via AP was that he was on an Islamic hit list. That may still turn out to be true. I don’t trust the American news media to get the facts anymore.

Rest in Peace,Soldier, Your war is done. Thank you for all you did to keep and protect our way of life. Now, join our brothers (and sisters) in a place where the fighting is over. May God Bless and keep you.
Lord, please take this man among men, but, please don’t take him lightly.
