Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. http://www.letargets.com/ is a 21-year designer and full service provider of training targets for the DHS, the Justice Department and thousands of law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

The company’s website offers a line of “No More Hesitation” targets – ”designed to give officers the experience of dealing with deadly force shooting scenarios with subjects that are not the norm during training.” The targets are, “meant to help the transition for officers who are faced with these highly unusual targets for the first time.”

UPDATE 7:45pm EST: In case you are attempting to get to the site, it’s getting hammered by traffic since the news broke. Some have said that calls have been returned and the page is pulled down. After about ten minutes of waiting, the page did load for me, so they had not pulled the page within the past hour.

These people are fucked up. I cant believe these training techniques are used in America.

I really can’t relate to what this country has become. Breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomach.

  2. TN-Cat says:

Throughout history, it has been women and children that courageous men have died defending. I guess we know who we will be defending them from.

You know, as one who has trained intensively for active shooter and dynamic takedowns, and been the point-man for numerous high-risk takedowns (and does his best to support law enforcement whenever ethically possible) – I have to say that I would rather an officer risk his life in hesitating, than shoot a little kid or a pregnant woman.

Training serves as a tool to normalize a behavior. There is no circumstance under which I would want my law enforcement personnel, sworn to protect & defend, to normalize the shooting of women & kids. None.

I want there to be a mental break when they see a “non-traditional” threat in front of them. This is just sick.

Tried clicking on the page. It wouldn’t come up. Maybe they’re trying to srub it completely.

    • notamobster says:

When you click the archived page, you can still see the pregnant woman target. They may be trying to scrub the page, or they may just be overloaded by traffic.

The message that comes up is
      “Hrm.
Wayback Machine doesn’t have that page archived. It doesn’t seem to be available on the live web, either.”

Do any of you techies know if that means they’ve deleted the page, or just that it’s overloaded?

  4. TN-Cat says:

I cant even get into their scenario targets menu. Zombies, yes.

  5. R.D. Walker says:

Christ. So it has come to this. Practicing killing pregnant women and children. That is sick.

Maybe some day these cops will be in a plane wreck in the Andes and have to resort to cannibalizing dead passengers. Does that mean they should be practicing recipes for human flesh in preparation?

Some things are so reprehensible they aren’t even contemplated except in the most desperate situations.

  6. James says:

    Get photos of company management.
I’m sure those could be cut and pasted on something good.

Of course, this training will result in hostages being shot.

  7. Locke n Load says:

No More Hesitation is no longer up, its been scrubbed.
Ok, then, all you active or retired police… ever seen a target like that before?

If LE Targets is a private firm with 21 years in the business selling to law enforcement, are they likely to have made this target line by REQUEST? Or did they put it up trying to anticipate a market?

We need to be placing some phone calls, don’t ya think?
    How long was it up?
    How many sold?
    Who were the buyers?
What was the genesis of this particular target line, internal or external?
If external, where did the request come from?
Have you ever sold a line like this before?
Have their ever been requests for something like this before?
Why aren’t there any blacks or mexicans in your target mix?

Over a billion rounds sold to DHS so far… Please tell me again why I should trust those militarized police and how motive has no importance?

    • RJ says:

I have used realistic targets in the past, generally methed up bad guys with guns, bad guy behind hostage, wearing body armor bad guy, guy with knife, club, shotgun, cell phone, badge displayed,

small child, small female, female with child and gun, grandma in a robe with gun, grandpa with shotgun, never.

muscle memory being built to fire on person with gun, not whole target analysis, BAD NEWS.

I have worked extensively to get operators to look at whole target, not just a hand with item in it, otherwise you get shooters just firing at anyone out of startle reflex, not just badguys.

I would be curious to know if a request for these types of targets was made and if so who is trying to desensitize their operators and why?

      • notamobster says:

        I agree, RJ.

As a former SRT operator, we trained with simunition (which hurts like a mug, by the way) and even airsoft. We even trained in non-traditional targeting.

I once shot up an entire class of simulated high school kids (other cops), because my shooter in the previous two scenarios was wearing bdu’s – when an explosion went off and a crowd came running around the corner, I singled out the BDU’s and shot what would have been a high school kid and a couple of his friends.

Most of them weren’t hit, but the actual shooter came around the corner as the “kids” mobbed me for help – and killed all of us.

We practiced with non-traditionals in the same way, but the dynamic nature of the scenario makes you judge the whole situation as opposed to just a gun.

We had active shooters who were stopped by good guys (who had a gun in their hand when we got on scene). We had victims who were hiding guns.

You practice with those scenarios to become a better judge under duress. Shooting paper targets of women & kids is designed for one purpose only – to normalize the behavior of shooting at women or kids. Desensitize, as RJ said.

Infowars.com also has the sample pix and the descriptions. Lots of wrong spelling or typographical errors. Something fishy here. It reads like a chinese translation. Is dhs buying them from china?

  9. notamobster says:

Notice that none of them are black or mexican. I guess they’re saying that blacks & mexicans are “traditional targets”?
