Working causes global warming

Your damned work ethic is killing Gaia.

Want to reduce the effects of global warming? Stop working so hard. Working fewer hours might help slow global warming, according to a new study released Monday by the Center for Economic Policy and Research.

A worldwide switch to a “more European” work schedule, which includes working fewer hours and more vacation time, could prevent as much as half of the expected global temperature rise by 2100, according to the analysis, which used a 2012 study that found shorter work hours could be associated with lower carbon emissions.

The Center for Economic Policy and Research is a liberal think tank based in Washington.

See? Obama’s chronic Funemployment situation is saving the planet. He really is a God-King, isn’t he?

    “more vacation time”

Which means much more travel either by car or plane than normal if one doesn’t stay home.

Okay, I realize that I run the very real risk of using this too often because we discuss liberals so much, but – that’s the dumbest freakin thing I’ve ever heard.

So what they’re saying is, I’m not employed…I’m enviornmentally challanged?

What a great plan. Instead of being stuck in the office for 11 hours a day, I could cut my grass on a more regular basis. Barbecue more often and stay up later sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows. Get out on the lake skiing and tubing. This would be great!

Exactly. If I’m not at work, that frees me up to drive all over the place! Supposing (stretching it here) that people are actually productive when they work, someone else will be required to do the work that they aren’t doing, while they’re out burning tires or clubbing baby seals – whatever they do for fun when they get out of work early.

The fact is, that the largest segment of available employment in the US is service-related work. This requires that someone fill your position when you are not present. Idiots.

It was radical environmentalists who released the weaponized virus in Preppers Vindicated to bring down the economy and reduce CO2 emissions. In that scenario, it worked. CO2 emissions were definitely reduced.
