There Ought To Be A Law….

…banning walking while chewing gum texting. Oh wait! They are working on that in Nevada. Thank Heavens!

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) β€” If AB123 passes its committee and makes it into law, it would be illegal for pedestrians to read, browse the internet or enter data with hand-held devices while crossing roads in the state.

Democratic Las Vegas Assemblyman Harvey Munford is set to present AB123 to the Assembly Committee on Transportation on Thursday.

Hopefully soon, the days shown in this video will end and we will all be the better off for it.

There ought to be a law against walking while flying a kite, too.

Seriously, when will the creation of idiotic laws stop??

I wonder why the kite guy didn’t just let go?

    • Bman says:

Because it’s against the law not to have control over your kite.

These do-gooders, legislating human consciusness into oblivion really need to take a break. I’m reminded of the CS Lewis quote:

“…but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

  2. Bill says:

Last year in Fort Lee NJ, which was George Washington’s headquarters at one point during the Revolutionary War, they banned texting while walking on the street. Something about 3 people being killed when they didn’t realize where they were going. Fort Lee is close to where I live.

  3. RUDE JUDE says:

Each time I have caught someone texting on the road next to me, I casually let them know I see what they are doing. What do they do? The simply take their driving hand off the steering wheel to flip me off.

If they ban texting and walking, they will be doing us a great disservice by removing comedy gold from life:

However, the eventual results would be removal of these morons from the breeding pool. I’ll forego funny for hope.

    • EastBayLarry says:

Yes this is the best argument against these stupid laws: They prevent the workings of Darwinian Selection to improve the breed.
A law to protect stupids from themselves can only lead to more stupids, which come to think of it, is just what the Democrats want.

We need a law about my wife’s meatloaf. Texting, while eat it, just multiplies the danger by a factor of 10.
