Serbu Firearms Tells NYPD To Pound Sand

Serbu Firearms makes guns, including .50 BMG rifles. Someone from the News York Police Department contacted them:

Serbu replied:

Yes, I got the message and tried to return the call but got no answer. I appreciate your interest in our BFG-50A; I’m sure it would be an excellent addition to your department’s arsenal. Unfortunately, we have a policy of selling to state law enforcement agencies only what is allowed to be sold to private citizens in that state. Since the passage of the NY SAFE act, the BFG-50A is considered an assault weapon and as such is no longer available to private citizens in the state of New York. Therefore we have to respectfully decline to supply your department with BFG-50A rifles.

Mark Serbu”

Good for them. Ronnie Barrett started this and a lot of others have jumped on the bandwagon.

Not only is this awesome, but WTF does NYPD need a .50 cal for? Who are they going to war with? What. The. Flip.

They are going to WAR against WE THE PEOPLE!

With leadership like Bloomberg, should we expect that it will be used on REAL criminals? NO
They will deploy snipers on Law Abiding Constitutional abiding citizens that can protect themselves LONG before the REAL bad guys.

Well done Serbu, a company of solid principles I see. Don’t worry about the lost revenue, it’ll be made up for and then some by thankful citizens.

Bloomberg and Cuomo shouldn’t be trusted with weapons of any kind.

Love it. We need to see MORE of it. I hope they are putting Colorado in their sights also.

What they need to do is do this on a federal level, at least where it concerns federal “law enforcement”. Hells yeah I want an MP5, a burp 9mm that fits in my side holster, and some other things. I probably can’t afford them, but if they became popular enough, and they would, the prices would come down (if the free market is allowed sway).

I would love a gunworld McDonalds. “I would like that with a pair of suppressor, in .45, with selectable tie-back, and an compliment of extra large mags.” Just… saying. In Sweden, is it, they only get one size of automatic weapon, pretty much, to take home after their service. But they are f***ing socialists. We… should be doing better. All I’m saying on that part.

Well done Serbu Firearms. Also Barrett. Thank you for your integrity!!! Which is sadly lacking in our feckless, moronic politicians.

With the feds controlling your license, I’m not sure how effective you can be but, you have made an excellent start. Keep up the good work. Only if ….. all gun manufactures would follow your example, including the ammunition makers.

I just sent the following email to Mark Serbu at

    Hello Mark:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your position on limiting
the sale of lawful firearms only to entities that respect a persons rights
    guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment.
Your action indicates that you have a sense of integrity that is seldom seen in
the corporate world where profits come before all else.
You and other business that put honor before profit are setting a fine example
    for others to emulate.
You sir, are a good American.
God bless you and may God bless America.
