Zimbabwe Decends Further Into Hell, UN Stands Idly By

zimbabwe_violence.jpg

The leader of the opposition party, Morgan Tsvangirai, dropped out of the run off election scheduled for Jun 27. His supporters have been beaten and killed, his party headquarters blockaded, his support infrastructure destroyed. He argues that he cannot ask his supporters to vote in an election that will mean their deaths.

Behind the violence is one of Africa’s nastiest dictators, Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has precided over ten years of recession and 355,000% inflation. Before Mugabe forced white commercial farmers off their land, Zimbabwe was Africa’s second largest exporter of corn. Now it is Africa’s top importer of grain. Five million Zimbabweans – about 40% of the population – will need food aid in the coming year. Mugabe forced white farmers off the land in the name of land reform. In reality, it was largely a transfer of land from productive farmers to his cronies, most of whom had no experience in farming. Thousands of acres of formally productive land lies fallow.

Mugabe controls militias that harass, maim and murder supporters of the opposition. Political opponents are threatened, beaten, tortured and killed regularly. Under these conditions there is no chance elections could be free or fair.

So where is the UN? As usual, nowhere to be seen. If the United Nations is unable to see that free elections occur in a nation like Zimbabwe, it is beyond obvious that it is a worthless organization able to accomplish none of what it was created to do. It is nothing more than a hole into which billions of dollars are poured, mostly by the United States. How much more evidence do we need to justify scrapping this corrupt and worthless organization?

Mugabe is such a raging asshole that he actually had the gall to go to a UN Conference on Hunger and blame the US and UK for the food crisis in his nation. The spineless weasels applauded him while dining on food people in their own countries couldn’t afford if they spent a year’s salary. With few exceptions, the UN is an impediment to the improvement of humanity and should be scrapped.

.. and the world continues to close its eyes to the colossal fiascoes ongoing on the African continent. I can barely read a new news report from Zimbabwe without tears coming to my eyes. Where is the global response to Mugabe’s madness?

There may be small ray of hope. The African group most responisble for keeping Mugabe in power met sans the South African president. The SA president is a prize tool and has blocked most efforts to give Mugabe the boot and their meeting without his mangy ass is seen as a sign that the rest are ready to kiss Mugabe goodbye. Even the UN issued a harshly worded letter, which is about as much ire as the weenies can come up with unless talking about the US or Israel. All this will likely mean jack for the burned corpses in Zimbabwe, but at least the assholes noticed.

For all those who support mugabe, cant you see he has gone mad… it dose not matter what he has done for you, all that matters now is the change your leadership. Zimbabwe dose not deserve a leader who has dementia…I am serious
