Because the American Indian Counsel has requested that the NFL disassociate itself from Indian Names, the Washington Redskins have announced that they will change their name to the Washington Foreskins, in honor of all the dicks in Washington DC, effective immediately.

Republicans in Washington, and likely much of the public, have been urging the President to negotiate over the budget and the debt ceiling.

But perhaps they should be careful what they wish for.

No less than Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged caution, allegedly saying that “negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, shits on the board, then struts around like it won the game.”

RD, I read the linked story,
depending on proximity to the aggressor shooter to the hit party innocent, I go with felony murder analogy.
Once the determination that firing in self defense is justified the resulting damage lies at the feet of the original aggressor.

Analogy being during a struggle with a bad guy trying to knife you, and you fire during the struggle and a shot hits his buddy cheering him on you shouldn’t be held for negligent homicide

The article has merits. Where did all of the money for his education come from in the “single mother” family they tout so much, in the best private school on Oahu? That’s just a start.

      Didn’t you read it?
Through the LESO program, law enforcement agencies can receive MRAPs free of charge (apart from the initial expense to the taxpayers incurred in manufacturing them). Hundreds of police chiefs and sheriffs across the country have eagerly applied for the vehicles, urgently insisting that they meet previously unknown needs that didn’t become apparent until the Pentagon made the war-fighting vehicles available
Dammit man, the IEDs, the armor, the bombs, the troops shooting at them! Where is your HUMANITY! They just want to go get a donut dammit.

    Not surprised:

A person’s right to privacy should always trump someonel else’s right to an action invading said privacy. There are reports of a transgender student harassing girls in the bathroom. The school sides with the transgender student.

Let’s put this in a not-so-PC setting. 16yo male beats up another 16yo male. The victim files a complaint. The victim is told that they should give the bully his space and use a different bathroom.

Everybody talks a big game on the anti-bullying movement. Unless the bully belongs to a pet group of the democrat party.

This is bullying plain and simple. It is aggravated by the mismatch in plumbing in a high school bathroom. This is bullshit.

In my perfect utopian world, I would have zero tolerance policy : assault*, sexual assault, threats*, arson, drugs and paraphernalia, arrested for a felony, etc.

      * If you jump a guy, you better have a good reason to do so. You better feel your life was threatened.

*If you start spouting your mouth off, saying you are going to kick so and so’s ass, you better back it up.

That’s how it worked when I went to school. No weapons.

Where the hell was I going with this? Damn Pabst.

  9. fubar says:

“The school, St. Joseph Ogden High School in St. Joseph, IL, presented students with the situation where ten patients needed dialysis treatments. But, the kids were told, the local hospital only had six dialysis machines with which to save their lives. Four people must die, the assignment gravely said. Then the kids were given a list of descriptions of ten people and were told to pick the six who would get the treatment and the four who would die.
On the list were a lawyer, a housewife, a doctor, a disabled person, a college student, an ex-convict guilty of man-slaughter, a prostitute, a teacher, a cop, and a Lutheran Minister.
Kids had to choose which of these people would live and which would die.”

I asked my 15yr old this question.
She said, “Don’t they reuse dialysis machines? They aren’t once and done type equipment, are they? I thought they filtered waste from the kidneys. Why can’t they just treat the sickest people first?”

    No ethical dilemma there.

Yup, that would be the Teamsters, lol.
These guys are worse than Stazi, and more bloodthirsty. I’ve had mindblowing conversations with older Teamsters…they longed for the days when ‘intimidation’ involved actually HANGING scabs and non-union holdout companies.

    Here’s a great article I came across today…

Obamacare’s Next Shoe To Drop: People Buying Coverage On The Exchanges May Owe More Money Than They’re Being Told

The Obama Administration announced a “tech surge” to try and repair the busted Obamacare web site, but even bigger problems lie ahead. The next wave of woes will relate to the coverage itself, and will saddle some consumers with significant and unexpected costs.

People will undoubtedly find that subsidies that they received were miscalculated, and that they owe more money than they were told.

The current IT problems are a sideshow to these looming harms. The next wave of troubles will be hard to fix. The President will need to seek relief from Congress.

Under Obamacare, consumers are eligible to benefit from two different streams of subsidies.

The first category of subsidies (dubbed “premium tax credits”) is based on family income, and will be used to offset the cost of buying the health plans.

The second category of subsidies is less well known.

Dubbed the “cost-sharing subsidies,” these payments help pay for out-of-pocket expenses such as deductibles and co-pays. The “cost-sharing subsidies” also provide a sort of re-insurance to lower someone’s costs when they hit their catastrophic limits as a result of a major illness.

Problems with the way both categories of subsidies are being calculated will saddle consumers with unexpected costs.

Worth the read to go through the whole article…
